A Banger of a Night for our Butchers!

On Thursday 15th March local butchers and producers gathered at Rownhams House and Garden for the much anticipated results of the Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition, organised by Hampshire Fare. 

There were a record breaking number of entries this year (250+) across 12 categories which were all judged by a panel of national judges. The awards were hosted by BBC South Business Correspondent, Alistair Fee, who is an avid follower of Hampshire's local food scene. 

Our butcher's entered five winning recipes and picked up four golds and one silver; with one recipe making them overall Hampshire Sausage Champion. This now qualifies them for Champion of Champions Sausage Competition in London later on this year to see who makes the best sausage in Great Britain. Watch this space!

Congratulations to our fabulous butchery team and what a way to end National Butchers' Week? We could not be prouder of Matt who made these winning sausages!  The Champion recipe is made with two popular Hampshire ingredients from our farm shop, Becky Beez Honey and Upham Ale Tipster!
